Baby Essentials

May 18, 2017

I adore babies so I am super excited to welcome our little granddaughter into the world the beginning of August. Not only am I excited because as a birth doula I get to help a miracle happen but I get to help a miracle happen for my daughter and son-in-love! They have been preparing for her birth the moment they found out making sure mama gets enough rest, eats enough protein, and supports her body with quality nutritional supplements. They have also been checking out diapering systems, making fun pillows as well as making sure they have the best most natural products for their daughter. Here's just a few of the items they're filling their diaper bag with to ensure comfort and security for our little bit.

Diaper Cream

¼ cup virgin coconut oil

15 drops Lavender essential oil

10 drops Melaleuca essential oil

Glass measuring cup

Glass storage container

  • Melt coconut oil in glass cup using microwave or double boiler.

  • Add Lavender and Melaleuca essential oils. Store in glass container.

  • Leave in cool place and apply when needed.

Baby Wipes

1 roll premium paper towels
2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil
3 drops Lavender essential oil
3 drops Tea Tree essential oil
An airtight storage container/empty wipe container/wet bag

Note: Use cloth for reusable wipes.

1- Cut paper towel roll in half with a serrated or electric knife. Use half the roll now, and half later.

2- Combine water, Fractionated Coconut Oil, and essential oils in a small bowl.

3- Pour the mixture over the paper towels and then cover with the airtight lid letting the mixture absorb for 10 minutes.

4- Turn the container over and let sit for another 10 minutes.

5- Remove and discard the cardboard middle. Just pull the wipes from the center when you are ready to use. Store in container of your choice.
Tip: For on-the-go wipes, insert 15-20 wipes into travel size wipe container.
